Helen M. Mitchell is passionate to see people fully activated and engaged in their calling, and the local church equipped to lead people into a Biblical understanding of work and vocation and to see its value and service to Christ.
She is a leadership & strategy coach to business leaders and pastors, a speaker, author, a voice for women in the marketplace, and a Faith@Work Strategist.
Helen is also the Director of the Talbot Center for Faith, Work & Economics at the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University and an Ethics and Leadership Professor in the Crowell School of Business at Biola University. She teaches in both the Business undergraduate program and in the MBA program. She also serves as an MBA mentor.
As a faculty member for Professional Christian Coaching Institute, Helen is combining her teaching skills with coaching. She continues to stay connected to the business world as she oversees the Leader Learning Initiatives for Convene Corp.
Previously, she was an executive in high tech and served on the pastoral staff at Saddleback Church. She was the architect and visionary of the Saddleback@Work ministry at Saddleback Church.
Helen has worked in the business world, the local church and academia. She is integrating her executive, pastoral and teaching experience to transform organizations, develop high potential business and marketplace leaders, guide pastors and church leaders in their Faith@Work ministry and to disciple people in their worklife.
She exponentially accelerates application, growth and transformation.
Helen started her business career with AT&T becoming a Vice President with Lucent Technologies at the age of 30, and holding various leadership roles.
As an early adopter of faith, work, and economics in the local church, she is the architect and visionary of the Saddleback@Work ministry at Saddleback Church where she served as a licensed minister on the pastoral staff.
Helen has been sought out as an expert to integrate and apply faith, work and vocation in both business and in the local church. She has spoken at conferences, on radio programs, guest lectured at other universities, business and pastoral groups and authored faith and work articles and small group curriculum.
She is the founder and CEO of Strategic Management Resources, a strategy and management consulting firm, based in Orange County, CA. She assists clients to envision the future for their organization, develop effective planning strategies, build high levels of organizational capability and transformational leaders who can effectively collaborate and lead the implementation plans.
Helen holds a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Biola University and a Masters in Biblical and Theological Studies from the Talbot School of Theology, at Biola University.
She previously served as Vice President on the National Board of Directors for the Association for Strategic Planning and as an officer on the Board of Directors for The YMCA of Orange County.
